Ohio CPAs Endorse Cordray for Attorney General
Cite "Proven Track Record In Meaningful Reform"

(Columbus)--Richard Cordray, the Democratic candidate for Attorney General, racked up another significant endorsement today.

The Ohio Society of Certified Professional Accountants endorsed Cordray after screening Cordray and his Republican opponent.

The Society's letter addressed to Cordray stated: "The Ohio Society believes your extensive background, experience and proven track record of effecting meaningful reforms in both the private and public sectors well prepare you to serve as Ohio's next attorney general. In addition, our members were impressed by your commitment to continuing your important work promoting small business development, enhancing financial literacy, and protecting the financial security of Ohio families."

Cordray said he is grateful for the support of the organization, which has 23,000 members in Ohio.

"As Ohio Treasurer, I have worked closely with the Ohio Society of CPAs on their impressive financial education programs. Their commitment to public service is admirable, as is their level of understanding and interest in how the public and private sector can solve tough problems by working together."

Cordray said one of his top priorities as Attorney General is to continue building partnerships with professional organizations like the Ohio Society of CPAs.

"As Attorney General, one of my top priorities will be to zero in on financial predators who have been stalking the hard-working families of this state for too long. Dedicated professionals like the CPAs can be an invaluable resource in educating citizens and spotting scams and financial crimes. We have a track record of working together effectively and I look forward to bringing this kind of firepower along to the Ohio Attorney General's office."

CPA's also endorsed Cordray in his 2006 race for Ohio Treasurer.
